GLEN BURNIE, Md. — Authorities say a 10-year-old Maryland girl was fatally stabbed and a 13-year-old boy was wounded by an 18-year-old relative who is now being sought by police.

Anne Arundel County Police said in a statement Tuesday that officers were called to a Glen Burnie home Monday evening for a report of a stabbing found the two children injured. Both children were taken to area hospitals. Police say the girl died and the boy is being treated for injuries that aren’t life-threatening.

Police said detectives obtained an arrest warrant charging 18-year-old Andres Rafael Quintana Garcia, a relative of both children, with first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree attempted murder, assault and reckless endangerment,

Police spokesman Lt. Ryan Frashure says the children were stabbed when a family dispute escalated.
