Brother’s name given to police during arrest

A North Vernon man provided the name of his brother when arrested early Sept. 2 by Indiana State Police.

Derek A. Inman, 35, of 104 Oak Meadow Drive, was arrested on charges of legend drug-injection devices and possession of paraphernalia, booked into the Bartholomew County Jail at 4:40 a.m. Sept. 2 and held in lieu of $7,500 bond.

Derek Inman had told the arresting officer that he was Luke M. Inman, State Police spokesman Sgt. Stephen Wheeles said Tuesday.

Luke Inman was not involved, however, police said.

Due to the source error, incorrect arrest information was published Sept. 7 on Page A10 of The Republic.

Derek Inman will be facing additional charges for giving a false name, Wheeles said.
