REHOBOTH, Mass. — A police standoff with an armed man outside a Massachusetts convenience store has ended with a suspect in custody.

Rehoboth police tweeted that the man was taken into custody at about 11:30 a.m. Thursday.

Television station helicopter video showed several officers securing the man, who was then taken away in an ambulance. No name was released.

Cumberland Farms said in a statement that a man threatened a store employee at about 7 a.m., which prompted the standoff.

No employees or customers were inside the store during the standoff and the gas pumps were turned off.

Rehoboth is about 50 miles southwest of Boston.
