WILLISTON, N.D. — A man accused in a shooting in Williston that left two men dead has been charged with two counts of murder.

Authorities say 32-year-old Lamar Putney was arrested Tuesday in Williston in connection with the May 17 shootings.

Putney is accused of killing 24-year-old Diandre Lott and 23-year-old Donzell Washington at an apartment complex. The victims died of multiple gunshot wounds.

Police say the shooting happened after Lott and Washington arrived at the suspect’s apartment to talk about a used car for sale.

Lott and Washington came to the western North Dakota oil patch hub from Cleveland.
