Three of 12 stylized fiberglass horses that were originally grouped around an ash tree at W.B. Richards Elementary School in the 1970s are on exhibit at Columbus City Hall.
Long-time Columbus residents can revisit their childhoods by stopping by to see the horses, in their original colors of black, brown and white, which were designed by artist Costantino Nivola.
The sculpture was donated to the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. by J. Irwin and Xenia Miller in 1970 after the Millers saw a similar work in New York.
The exhibit is supported through a partnership of the city of Columbus and the Columbus Area Arts Council to celebrate the upcoming Exhibit Columbus symposium, “Foundations and Futures.”
