Zonta raising awareness about domestic violence

Zonta Clubs of Indiana, including members in Columbus, will meet at Monument Circle in Indianapolis on Oct. 1 to stage a second annual Zonta Says No to Violence Against Women walk.

The clubs in Indiana — Columbus, Fort Wayne, Frankfort, Indianapolis and Lebanon — will meet at the circle at 9 a.m. to hear Linda Majors, director of Domestic Violence Initiatives from the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, speak about violence against women. At 10 a.m., the group will walk to the Indiana Statehouse and then return to Monument Circle.

The walk is free and open to the public. Throughout the morning, club members will accept donations of new and gently used bras and sealed packages of feminine hygiene products. Donations will benefit an organization that provides these items to homeless women.
