LOS ANGELES — Los Angeles police are searching for a gunman who shot two people dead and injured two others.

Officer Mike Lopez said Saturday the shooting in the East Hollywood neighborhood was reported shortly before 8 p.m. Friday.

Lopez said there were numerous rounds fired at a group congregated on the street and that two people died on the scene. The suspect fled on foot to an unknown location.

He says the shooting is believed to be gang related.

The two injured victims are being treated for gunshot wounds to the legs at a local hospital.

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect, described as a male in his 20s wearing black clothing.
