Bartholomew County Sheriff’s deputies uncovered 27 pounds of marijuana plants growing in a remote section of northeast Bartholomew County near Hope and were looking for the cultivators of the illegal plant.

Barbara Stewart, a Bartholomew County Hospital trustee since 1975, received the Indiana Hospital Association’s Award of Merit, given annually to recognize an Indiana citizen, other than chief executive officers of hospitals, whose service in the hospital field was significant in the state and/or nation.

Building Inspector Herman Darlage announced plans for door-to-door checks of homes in areas threatened by the spread of blighted conditions to find and eliminate those isolated houses in bad condition which directly threatened the appearance of an entire neighborhood.
