BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. — Police in Lake Havasu City say they have been called upon to investigate a shooting involving a Bullhead City police officer.

They say officers were dispatched Sunday night to a domestic violence call at a Bullhead City home.

After arrival, police say 25-year-old Frank Terriquez was seen walking away from the house.

An officer began talking to Terriquez before a struggle ensued and Terriquez allegedly armed himself with a knife.

The policeman fired his gun and Terriquez was airlifted to a hospital and remains in critical condition.

The officer has been placed on administrative leave while the shooting is being investigated.

Bullhead City police officials say it’s customary for the department to have an outside police agency investigate an officer-involved shooting incident.
