Library presentation on Indiana’s very first, first lady set for 6:30 p.m.

Lori Roberts will portray Indiana’s first first lady, Ann Gilmore Hay Jennings, at 6:30 p.m. today in a free presentation at the Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St. in Columbus.

Jennings was born in Kentucky and came to Indiana with her family. She married then-Congressman Jonathan Jennings who later became Indiana’s first governor.

The character will comment on life as Indiana’s first lady, including sharing campaign duties with her husband and hosting President James Monroe at their Corydon home.
