DURHAM, N.C. — Police in Durham say a woman has been shot to death by a man wanted for choking her a month ago while a second woman was grazed by a by a bullet during an incident at an apartment complex.

Police spokesman Wil Glenn said in a statement that officers were called to a shooting around 2 a.m. Monday.

Authorities say that 25-year-old Erika Desiree Downey of Durham died of a gunshot wound. Another woman, whose identity was not released, was grazed by a bullet.

Investigators have issued a murder warrant for 24-year-old Larico Dunn. Police say Dunn choked Downey on Aug. 11 and is wanted on a warrant in that case as well as for violating probation. He has not been taken into custody.
