MONTGOMERY CITY, Mo. — A man on parole for a robbery that was tied to the 2010 shooting death of a Missouri football player’s cousin has been arrested on drug charges.
The Columbia Daily Tribune (http://bit.ly/2ck6TX0 ) reports that 26-year-old Deshon Houston, of Columbia, was arrested Sunday after pulling into the driveway of a residence. Boone County Sheriff’s Department Detective Tom says deputies “could smell the odor of marijuana.”
Houston was released on $14,000 bond. It wasn’t known if he had an attorney.
Houston previously accepted a plea deal and reduced sentence of eight years in prison in exchange for his testimony against other suspects in the death of Aaron Hobson of Wichita, Kansas. Hobson was killed while visiting Columbia to watch his cousin, Trey Hobson, play in the university’s homecoming game.
