Virginia D. Tankersly Emberton, 91, died Sunday morning, Sept. 18, 2016, at her residence.
Survivors include her children, James P. Emberton of Brown County, Shirley A. Mullikin of Martinsville, Colleen C. (Daniel) Lehr and Linda L. Dilley, both of Brown County, Joyce M. (Ridgely) Chittum of Clay County and Gayla J. Haley of Greenwood; a brother, June Tankersly of Bargersville; 17 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Emberton; and two infant children.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown with the Revs. Peter Heland and Jeff Floyd officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be at Spearsville Wesleyan Church Cemetery in Brown County.
