GRAND ISLE, Vt. — Vermont National Guard says two off-duty airmen were involved in a small aircraft “mishap” on a Lake Champlain island.
The Guard confirmed Tuesday that the airmen were not hurt in the incident on Savage Island on Monday, which involved a private aircraft. It said in a statement both were back at work.
The Federal Aviation Administration identified the aircraft as a Piper PA11 and said it crashed on landing at the Savage Island Airport in Grand Isle, Vermont, at about noon Monday.
The Guard did not release the names of the airmen.
