NEW HAVEN, Conn. — New Haven police are investigating a late-night shooting that left one man dead.

Officers responding to reports of a man shot and found 31-year-old Levern Bellamy in the rear yard of a home in the city’s Newhallville section.

He was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

There have been no arrests and no suspects.

Police are asking any witnesses to contact them.
