Dorothy L. Lyons, 75, of Columbus, died at 9:07 a.m. Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at Hickory Creek of Columbus.
Mrs. Lyons was born December 13, 1940, in Ashland, Kentucky, to Emory and Mollie E. Daniel Daniels. She married Paul Delmas Lyons October 1, 1957. He preceded her in death June 25, 2011.
A homemaker, Mrs. Lyons previously was a bookkeeper at Central Bookkeeping & Tax Service and King’s Carpet and Linoleum.
She was a member of Seymour Chapter Order of Eastern Star and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority in Ironton, Ohio.
Survivors include children, Rodney Lyons Sr. of North Vernon, Teresa (Tom) Cox of Elizabethtown, C. Alan Lyons of Columbus, Linda Lyons of North Vernon and Mollie (Alan) Sirvent of Milford, Massachusetts; a daughter-in-law, Alana Lyons of Irvine, Kentucky; sisters, Nancy (Robert) Galloway of Charlotte, North Carolina, Mary (James) Westfall and Kathy Pritchard of Flatwoods, Kentucky; brothers, Bruce (Cheryl) Bowling of Versailles, Kentucky, and Jed and Fred Daniels of Florida; 23 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Lyons was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Robert W. Lyons; and grandchildren, Brittany Line and Joshua Lyons.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Jonathan Moore Pike with Pastor Charles Kennedy officiating. Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday. Burial will be at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Lung Association, American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
