BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Plans filed with an eastern Pennsylvania city show Sands Casino is planning an expansion that would add restaurants, a separate poker room and give it the biggest casino floor in the state.
The (Allentown) Morning Call reports (http://bit.ly/2cUfJx5 ) the plans filed with Bethlehem’s Department of Community and Economic Development show the casino wants to add more than 35,000 square feet of gambling space.
But Sands CEO Mark Juliano wouldn’t confirm the project Wednesday. He says casino officials aren’t prepared to comment on any plans.
The expansion would need approval from the state Gaming Control Board and would need special approval if the number of table games were to exceed the state’s maximum of 250. Sands already has 237 tables.
