NEW YORK — The New York Police Department says it’s questioning a man in connection with a midtown Manhattan subway slashing.

The man was taken into custody Friday, a day after the victim was slashed on the face and chest with a box cutter.

The violence erupted after the men argued on a northbound “D” train at around 10:15 a.m. Thursday. It spilled onto the platform of the Bryant Park station near 42nd Street and Sixth Avenue.

Police say the bleeding victim followed the stranger up to the street but he got away.
