Evergreen Drive

Vera Ann Boggs, 72, of West Evergreen Drive, passed away at 7 p.m. Wednesday September 21, 2016, at her home.

Vera was born September 25, 1943, in East Chicago, Indiana, the daughter of Stephen and Verna Ann Halcomb Stamper. She married Glenn Boggs on April 12, 1963.

Vera lived her life serving her Lord and Savior. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene. Her love for others was shown in her daily walk with the Lord. Her time spent with her grandchildren was precious to her. Vera loved to cook and have family gatherings. Family meant so much to her. She will be sadly missed.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 24, 2016, at First Church of the Nazarene, 1245 McClure Road, Columbus, with Pastor Brian Rogers officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, September 23, 2016, at the Jewell–Rittman Family Funeral Home and two hours prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Burial will be at Valley Home Memorial Cemetery in Kurtz, Indiana.

Memorials may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana through the funeral home.

Survivors include her husband; sons, Stephen G. (Mary) Boggs and Michael D. (Cari) Boggs, both of Columbus; a daughter, Rhonda K. Jackson of Columbus; grandchildren, Kayla Henry, Hunter Boggs, Molly Boggs, Carly Jackson, Maggy Boggs, Chase Boggs and Nash Jackson; a great-grandson, Colt Henry; brothers, Ronald (Barbara) Stamper and Don (Peggy) Stamper,  all of Cedar Lake, Indiana, Edward (Barbara) Stamper of Columbus, Bill (Patsy) Stamper of Whitesburg, Kentucky, as well as Tom (Melanie) Stamper of Columbus; sisters, Glenda Harris of Hobart, Indiana, and Brenda (Jerry) Halcomb of Beaver Dam, Kentucky; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
