GRAND FORKS, N.D. — The Grand Forks Police Department’s K9 unit has a new member.

Riot is a two-year-old Belgian Malinois. She is a multipurpose dog trained in tracking, searching areas and buildings, locating evidence and other articles, and apprehending suspects. Her handler is Officer Preston Engstrom.

The dog recently completed a 16-week course taught by police in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Riot joins fellow K9 unit members Reno, and his handler Sgt. Andrew Stein, and Shelby, with her handler Officer Andrew Ebertowski.
