Former Bartholomew Superior Court 1 Judge Chris D. Monroe has been named Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. attorney.
BCSC board members selected Monroe on Monday night to replace former school attorney Kelly Benjamin.
Benjamin left the school attorney post as she was elected as the Republican nominee for Bartholomew Circuit Judge. She is unopposed in the November election for the position to replace Judge Stephen Heimann, who is retiring.
Monroe, who has a private law practice at 225 Washington St., also serves as Bartholomew County Council attorney.
