CHANDLER, Ariz. — Chandler police say officers searched a thrift store but didn’t find an armed burglary suspect who fired one shot while in the business.

They say the suspect was found inside the Goodwill store by employees Thursday morning.

Police say the unidentified man fired a weapon while inside the store and fled before officers arrived.

They say there’s no indication that the suspect fired at any store employees.

Police say employees reporting for work saw the man inside and immediately left and called 911.

The store and nearby businesses were evacuated for about two hours while officers searched the area.

Police reported finding signs of forced entry in the rear of the store.

A store surveillance photo of the suspect was released Thursday afternoon, but police say it was poor quality.
