Lawrence Ray Colwell, 67, of Columbus, (Brown County) Indiana, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2016, at his home.
He was born June 13, 1949, in McRoberts, Kentucky, the son of the late Paul and Kathrine (Berry) Colwell.
He married Lynetta F. Maurer on June 7, 1995, and she survives.
Lawrence retired from Cummins Engine Company after 33 years. He was a member of Six Mile Lodge No. 412 of Free & Accepted Masons in Hayden, Indiana. He enjoyed going to flea markets, going to casinos and playing Blackjack, being outdoors, fishing and old cars and trucks. He loved woodworking and made a playhouse for all his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife; children, Kimberley (Allen) Gater, Jennifer Colwell (Ronnie McDonald) and Paul Colwell; stepchildren: Mark Reed, Michelle (Dan) Marasco and David Reed; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Sallie Foster and Chris Carr.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Glenna Wright.
Funeral service will be held a 3:30 p.m. Sunday, October 2, 2016, at Voss Chapel in Seymour with the Rev. Clifton Burton officiating.
Friends and family may gather at Voss Chapel on Sunday from 1 p.m. until time of service.
