More than 400 students piled onto Smith Elementary School’s new track for a ceremony dedicating the project, which took five years and $12,000 to complete.

Conservation worker Woodrow Fleming and vocational agriculture teacher Wayne Coy, both of Columbus, received the Rural Service Award given each year by Columbus Chamber of Commerce.
