Police, ambulance respond to overdose report at East

Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. officials say a 16-year-old female student who overdosed in a Columbus East High School bathroom this morning was an intentional suicide attempt.

School officials said the girl attempted to overdose on pills and was found by East students, who reported it to school officials.

An ambulance was sent to East at about 8:45 a.m., Columbus police said. The teen was given naloxone, an opioid antidote, before the ambulance arrived and walked out of the bathroom to the stretcher before being transported to Columbus Regional Hospital, school officials said.
