Winning schools have been chosen as the participation champions in the Mill Race Marathon Kids Fun Run.
Parkside Elementary won first place in the large school category and CSA Fodrea won in the medium school category. ABC Stewart won in the small school category. First Presbyterian Preschool won the preschool category.
As part of the Kids Fun Run elementary and preschool challenges, schools with the most participants will receive Hoosier Sporting Goods gift certificates.
An estimated 1,000 kids participated in this year’s Fun Run on Sept. 23 at Mill Race Park. Schools were divided into three groups based on enrollment — large (500 or more students), medium (300-499 students) and small (299 or fewer students).
The winning elementary schools are:
Large school
1st place: Parkside Elementary
2nd place: Southside Elementary
Medium school
1st place: CSA Fodrea
2nd place: St. Peter’s Lutheran
Small school
1st place: ABC Stewart
2nd place: St. Bartholomew
Preschool
1st place: First Presbyterian Preschool
2nd place: Cummins Child Development Center
