LAS VEGAS — Las Vegas police have arrested a 45-year-old man that officers say fatally shot his grandmother at the Summerlin home they shared.

Police say Bradley Christian Francis was arrested Tuesday evening following a three-hour standoff with police. Neighbors called police Tuesday afternoon to report the shooting and officers found the woman lying on the street with a gunshot wound.

The woman’s identity has not been released but officers say she was in her 80s.

Police say that Francis was in his backyard armed until he surrendered peacefully to police.

Authorities did not release details about a possible motive for the shooting.

Clark County jail records show Francis was being held Wednesday on suspicion of murder pending a court appearance Thursday. A judge is expected to appoint him a lawyer at that time.
