Bobby E. Dicken, 69, of Columbus, passed from this life at 7:55 p.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2016, at his home.

Mr. Dicken was born May 19, 1947, in Saint Paul, Indiana, to Chester Paul and Edie Mae Shoopman Dicken. He married Barbara L. Bradtke December 26, 1987.

Mr. Dicken was an Indiana Army National Guard veteran. He was a Journeyman Electrician at Cummins Engine Company retiring in 2011 after 45 years of service. He was a member of The Ridge and he cherished the time he spent with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara; children, Michael Dicken of Columbus, Shannon R. Manigault of Yuma, Arizona, Chris (Shannon) Matlock of Nashville, Jon (Jennifer) Matlock of Columbus and Jenny (Randy) Thompson of Columbus; 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Randall Dicken of Tucson, Arizona, Lonnie (Chris) Dicken of Dupont and Larry (Diane) Dicken of Burlington, North Carolina; sisters, Reba Gray of Greensburg, Pauline (George) Dixon of Chandler, Arizona, and Karen Boggs of Ocala, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Dicken was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Paul Howard Dicken; and sisters, Alona Anne Dicken, Thelma Eidelman and Jeannie Smith.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at The Ridge with Jerry Day Jr. officiating.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at The Ridge and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at The Ridge.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or The Ridge.
