Members of Old Union United Church of Christ, at the intersection of County Roads 800N and 50W, celebrated the church’s 190th anniversary.

Marching bands from Columbus North and Columbus East high schools advanced to regional competition after earning superior ratings at a state district contest hosted by East.

Fire Prevention Week displays featured at local stores included the city’s 1917 vintage fire truck, “Mary Frances,” which got its nickname from the mispronunciation of “American-LaFrance,” the name of the company that built it.
