Bartholomew County Sheriff’s deputies administered four doses of naloxone, an opioid antidote, before reviving a 44-year-old woman.
Deputies were called to the area of 16000 N. County Road 350E about an unresponsive female who was barely breathing, deputies said.
Deputy Andrew Dougan and other deputies administered four doses of naloxone, two doses at 4 mg and two doses at 2 mg, before the woman regained consciousness, deputies said.
A Columbus Regional Hospital ambulance took the woman to the hospital, where Dougan said the woman was reported to be alert and conscious.
The sheriff’s department has not determined what substance the woman was overdosing on, but Bartholomew County Sheriff Deputy Andrew Densford said the victim’s mother gave him a small piece of aluminum foil with a light colored powder inside that she had found in her daughter’s wallet.
