Military news – October 8th

Dr. Chad Meshberger, the son of Harry and Sandra Meshberger of Columbus, has been promoted to the rank of major, field surgeon in the Indiana National Guard.

Meshberger, 36, is a member of the 113th Brigade Support Battalion of the 76th Infantry Brigade Combat Team stationed in Franklin. He served with the U.S. Air Force as a para-rescueman for four years with para-rescue duties in Afghanistan and numerous other countries throughout the world.

He attended undergraduate school at the University of New Mexico and medical school at the University of Des Moines with residency at Indiana University Medical School. He is board certified in neurology and earned a fellowship in epilepsy.

His parents live at Grandview Lake, where Chad Meshberger spent his summers prior to entering the military after high school.
