The Columbus East and Columbus North volleyball teams will meet in the opening round of the Class 4A East Central Sectional.
The Olympians and Bull Dogs drew each other in the IHSAA draw on Monday morning. They will play at 6 p.m. Oct. 20.
The winner between East and North will play the winner of the Shelbyville-Bloomington South match in the semifinals at 11 a.m. Oct. 22. The championship match will be at 7 p.m. Oct. 22.
Hauser will face Oldenburg Academy at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 20 in the first round of the Class A Hauser Sectional. The winner will play Rising Sun or Waldron at 12:30 p.m. Oct. 22, and the finals will be at 7 p.m. that evening.
All other area teams drew first-round byes and will not play until Oct. 22. Jennings County will play Seymour in the semifinals of the Class 4A Jeffersonville Sectional at 12:30 p.m. that day. Brown County will face Edgewood in the semifinals of the Class 3A Sullivan Sectional, also at 12:30 p.m.
In Class A, South Decatur will face the winner between Jac-Cen-Del and Southwestern (Shelby) at 11 a.m. in the Hauser Sectional. Edinburgh will meet Greenwood Christian Academy at 12:30 p.m. in the Indianapolis Lutheran Sectional. Trinity Lutheran will play Borden at 12:30 p.m. in the West Washington Sectional.
