BERLIN — A fire on the roof of a Berlin complex that contains a shopping mall has been brought under control. There were no reports of any injuries.

A column of black smoke could be seen rising early Tuesday afternoon from the roof of the office tower at the Europa Center, a Berlin landmark located on one of the German capital’s main shopping streets.

The center was evacuated.

The fire service had no immediate information on what caused the blaze.
