Panthers sweep Rebels

NORTH VERNON — Jennings County had little trouble Monday in rolling to a 25-20, 25-14, 25-18 win against Southwestern (Hanover).Emma McPeek recorded nine kills, one solo and three assist blocks and two aces to lead the Panthers (6-20). Carissa Kinney had 29 assists and 23 digs, and Sydney Brown served two aces.

Also for Jennings, Katie Schneider pounded seven kills, and Sydney Brown added six kills, three assist blocks and 12 digs. Denza Simpson notched three assists, Kinney had one solo and two assist blocks and Hanah Bertram tallied seven digs.

Cougars sweep Hornets

MEDORA — South Decatur broke open a close first set, then rolled in the final two for a 25-21, 25-13, 25-12 win at Medora.The first set was tied nine times — the last at 18-18 — before the Cougars (8-21) finished strong, with set point coming on a Hornets attacking error. South Decatur jumped on top 7-1 in the second set and 5-1 in the third set.
