Enter crime-prevention poster contest

The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department is launching a poster contest as part of Crime Prevention Month.

All elementary school students in Bartholomew County are invited to create a poster reflecting a crime-prevention theme and drop it off at the Bartholomew County Jail, 543 Second St., from 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays until Oct. 31.

Multiple submissions will be accepted, but posters can not be computer generated.

Requirements include:

  • Student’s name, school, grade and telephone number placed on the back of the poster
  • Design must be on 8 ½ x 11 paper
  • Artwork must be completed in pen, pencil, colored pencil, crayon, paint or felt pen.
  • It must reflect a crime-prevention theme.

Winning entries will be selected by the sheriff’s department command staff and announced by Nov. 10, with posters displayed in the jail’s administrative offices. Winning artists will have their photo taken with Sheriff Matt Myers.
