Indiana State Police arrested a local man in Brown County on drug-related charges after a traffic stop.
Trooper Chris Griggs stopped a vehicle driven by Jami M. Martin, 58, 5101 W. Ohio Ridge Drive, Columbus, on State Road 46 near Gnaw Bone, east of Nashville at about 8 p.m. Saturday, state police said.
During the stop, Martin attempted to leave the vehicle while Griggs told him to stay in the vehicle, state police said.

Martin then placed the vehicle in gear, traveling west through a parking lot, then through a yard and attempted to travel back on to State Road 46, troopers said.
Martin then left the vehicle and fled on foot behind nearby homes, but Griggs caught him a short time later, troopers said.
Nashville police officer Matt Hatchett, Brown County Sheriff’s deputy Sgt. William Southerland and Sheriff’s Lt. Mike Moore arrived to assist.
Officers found two bags of a crystal-type substance under a tree where Martin had been, assisted by Southerland’s K-9. Also found with the substance was a hat that Martin had been wearing when he fled on foot, troopers said.
The substance was later identified as methamphetamine, state police said.
Martin was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine over 3 grams, a Level 5 felony, felony resisting law enforcement, felony obstruction of justice and misdemeanor resisting law enforcement, according to the state police.
He was released from the Brown County Jail after posting $10,000 bond, jail officials said.
