ASH GROVE, Mo. — An official says nine dogs have been killed in a house fire west of Ash Grove.

The Springfield News-Leader ( ) reports that the fire happened around 4:30 p.m. Thursday at a large three-story farmhouse.

Ash Grove firefighter Tony Monnig says one adult, four children and three dogs were able to escape. No injuries were reported.

An Ash Grove Fire Protection District representative says nine dogs died in the fire.

According to Monnig, the fire is under investigation but there is no indication that the fire is suspicious.
