SALT LAKE CITY — Police have arrested a man accused of punching another man at a football tailgate party so hard it fractured the victim’s skull.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports ( ) that the man accused of throwing the punch was booked into the Salt Lake County jail on Friday, though he has yet to be charged.

Police say the victim was waiting in line for the portable restrooms on Oct. 8 when two men attempted to cut him in line before the Arizona vs. University of Utah game. The victim told them to go to the back of the line then used the bathroom.

U. police Sgt. Garth Smith says as the victim exited the restroom one of the men punched him in the back of the head. The victim suffered a cracked skull but is expected to recover.
