WALTHAM, Mass. — Police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed by an SUV in Waltham.

A second pedestrian was injured in the accident that occurred shortly before 7 a.m. Tuesday in the vicinity of a large office park on Wyman Street.

Police said a 65-year-old Watertown man was pronounced dead at a hospital after being hit by a Lexus SUV. His name was not immediately released.

The other pedestrian, a 70-year-old man, remains in critical condition Tuesday evening.

Police said the driver of the SUV involved in the crash remained at the scene. No charges have been filed, and the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office says it is an open and active investigation.
