Columbus Board of Works approved a proposal presented by Estates Development Corp. to develop a housing addition of 33 lots on 13.2 acres to be known as Foxpointe East.

Reports of septic tank failures in rural subdivisions prompted Bartholomew County Plan Commission to begin requiring soil-condition reports before approving new housing subdivisions outside of Columbus city limits.
