Bartholomew Consolidated School Board unanimously approved a three-year renovation project at Fodrea Elementary School, including replacement of the heating and air conditioning systems, addition of a lift and updated restrooms in compliance with the Americans With Disabilities Act and replacement of the school’s carpet with hard-surface flooring, in all costing about $1.5 million.

1991

About 200 Boys and Girls Club members wrapped a red ribbon around the Paul Stacker Gymnasium at Foundation For Youth and chanted anti-drug slogans as part of National Red Ribbon Week, designed to draw the attention of schools and clubs to the problem of drug abuse.

Mayor Eret Kline made his annual, and unpopular, suggestion that “trick or treat” be observed on a single night in advance of Halloween to avoid conflict with parades and social functions planned by adult organizations.
