James D. Muir, 65, of Columbus, passed away October 24, 2016, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.
James was born March 18, 1951, in Columbus, the son of James M. and Vena Junie Chrisman Muir.
He was employed by and retired from Cummins Engine Company. He enjoyed woodworking, collecting many different types of items, as well as spending time with his family and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 27, 2016, at Garland Brook Cemetery with the Rev. Wes Jones officiating. There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association through Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
Survivors include a daughter, Nikki (James) Sparks of Columbus; a son, Jonah Muir of Columbus; grandchildren, Jacob and Sydney Lewis, Nathan and Samantha Sparks, Jonah Benjamin and Jenah Muir; a great-grandchild, Tucker Muir; and a sister, Julia (Charles) Fox of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Charles Muir, and his parents.
Services were entrusted to Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
