Hoosier Pro Wrestling show to benefit Cheer Fund

Hoosier Pro Wrestling’s card Nov. 5 at the Bartholomew County 4-H Fairgrounds Community Arts Building, County Road 200W, in Garden City will benefit the Columbus Firemen’s Cheer Fund.

Last year, a similar event drew 175 people and raised $1,000 in cash and about $500 in new and gently used toys that were donated, organizer Jerry Wilson said. He has organized the fundraiser for several years, and also raises money for local causes such as the Love Chapel food pantry.

The Night Owl County Band is scheduled to be part of this year’s event with a performance to open the evening at 7 p.m. Bell time is 7:45 p.m. with a slate of matches that will include Paris Kelly, a wrestler from Memphis, Tennessee.

Organizers ask that people bring a new or gently used toy to donate to the cause. Wilson will pick up donated toys from those who cannot attend the fundraiser; contact him at 812-552-4477.

Representatives of the Cheer Fund, which distributes toys and food baskets to local struggling families at Christmas, will attend the event.

Tickets are $15 and available at the door.
