The Columbus North and East marching bands had important competitions Oct. 22. North performed in the Indiana State School Music Association semistate in Indianapolis and secured a top-10 finish to advance to today’s state finals at Lucas Oil Stadium for the first time in four years. East performed in the ISSMA Scholastic Marching Band finals, also in Indianapolis, and earned gold status — the highest — two weeks before the Mid-States Band Association’s 3A championship in Ohio.
