Purdue ‘College day’ event scheduled

Area students interested in exploring engineering and technology careers and their parents may participate in an upcoming Day In College event 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday at Purdue Polytechnic Columbus, 4444 Kelly St.

Day In College will include interaction with professors and students in class, demonstrations of technology used in the classrooms and labs, such as 3-D printing, virtual reality and robotics and discussions with faculty, staff and local businesses offering internships and careers for graduates of the degree programs offered by Purdue Polytechnic Columbus.

5K to raise funds for county animal shelter

A 5K run/walk is 9 a.m. Nov. 12 at Columbus Learning Center, 4555 Central Ave. in Columbus, to raise funds for the Adoption Medical Fund at Columbus Animal Care Services.

The Doggone 5K Fun Run is the senior project of Columbus East student Adycin Rager.
