Michael Dale Cox, 59, of Hope, passed away at 12:12 a.m. Monday, October 31, 2016, at Columbus Regional Hospital.

He recently worked at Delta Faucet in Greensburg and spent many years as a farm loan officer. He was a farmer at heart.

Mike was a member of Waynesburg Christian Church. He enjoyed farming, pig showing, NASCAR and telling stories with his buddies. He was a foodie and enjoyed frying chicken and cooking for everyone. He loved spending time with his family and friends and their friends. He really enjoyed going on warm vacations with his family.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Norman Funeral Home in Hope with Pastor David Burnett officiating. Burial will follow at Hope Moravian Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be given to Waynesburg Christian Church or National Swine Registry (National Junior Swine Association) 2639 Yeager Road, West Lafayette, Indiana 47906.

Born on August 30, 1957, in Greensburg, Mike was the son of Clayton and Freida Lawson Cox. He married Debra Bense on June 21, 1980, and she survives.

Other survivors include his children, Glendon (Sarah) Cox of Greensburg and Morgan (Ryan Thayer) Cox of Hope; brother, Steve Cox of Columbus; mother-in-law, Janet Bense of Hope; sisters-in-law, Wanda (Steve) Fortner and Brenda (David) Shireman, both of Hartsville; several nieces, nephews and special friends.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Beverly Elliott; and father-in-law, Louis Bense.
