Major carried seven times for 161 yards and a touchdown and completed all four of his passes for 73 yards and two scores in the Olympians’ 49-9 sectional semifinal win against Martinsville.

His performance last week: “I feel like it was a great overall team win. Everybody was doing their part, and the main thing was just win, survive and move on.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “I watch a lot of film, and before games, I listen to music.”

Favorite drink: “Gatorade”

Favorite food: “Steak”

Favorite book: “The Harry Potter Series”

Favorite class: “AP Biology”

Role model: “My dad (Mark Major)”

Best advice: “Give 100 percent in everything you do, and good things will happen.”

Athletics goal: “We want to win sectional Friday, and our overall goal is to win state.”

If you could travel anywhere: “Probably Hawaii, because I love going to the beach, and it’s really tropical there.”

Schoen recorded three blocks, 27 digs and four aces in a four-set regional win against Greenwood Christian Academy. Saturday, she had 11 kills and two aces in a five-set semistate loss to Indianapolis Tindley.

Her performance last week: “I felt like all our team was pumped up and ready to play, and we were able to produce a win (in regional). I felt like we came out strong (Saturday), but we weren’t able to produce a win.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “The team always listens to music to get pumped up, and I always eat a good meal before.”

Favorite drink: “Water”

Favorite food: “Pasta”

Favorite book: “The Outsiders”

Favorite class: “Advanced PE”

Role model: “My parents (Jerry and Becky Schoen)”

Best advice: “Never give up.”
