Berkshire Hathaway beat On Tap last week to capture the Columbus Flag Football League championship.

Berkshire will now play against three other league champions from around the state in the inaugural Indiana Flag Football Championship on Saturday at the PAAL Fields.

Berkshire advanced to the local title game with a 26-6 win against Put Boobie In, while On Tap beat Smith’s Row 38-12 in the semifinals. In the first round, Put Boobie In downed Hard Up 19-12, Smith’s Row topped Team Hands-Bro 14-6, On Tap beat Anytime Fitness 32-14 and Berkshire downed Enkei America Inc. 21-0.

BROOMBALL

Rockpile stays perfect

The Rockpile improved to 2-0 with a 5-1 win against CCA Kutters. Tyler Douthitt netted two goals for Rockpile, while Ryan Ingalls, Matt Street and Ricky Hooten all aded one. James Schnable scored for Kutters.Monsters of Rock won its opener against Hansons 6-2. Zach Henderson scored two goals for Monsters, while Ken Douglas, Tom Kubat, Greg Thomas and Rob Jones all added one. Keith Henry and Rahul Bhardwaj had the goals for Hansons.

Yoopers also stayed unbeaten at 1-0-1 with a 1-0 win against Flying Zambonis. Claire Tegl scored the game’s lone goal.

Darien Castetter’s hat trick, plus a goal from Todd Ebbinger led Slappin’ Balls to a 4-3 win against Toyota Tsunamis. Jimmy Robertson, Greg McNealy and Yuri Motamedi scored for Tsunamis.

In the Iron Man game, Team White beat Team Black 4-2. Shawn Bauman, Ben Echkart, Matt Street and Ingalls scored for White. Todd Houchin and Ricky Hooten had the goals for Black.

Elementary season starts

The Elementary Basketball League kicked off last week with five boys and five girls games.In the boys league, Richards beat Taylorsville 33-8, Mt. Healthy downed Parkside 38-27, Smith tipped CSA Fodra 40-22, Rockcreek edged Schmitt 32-29 and Southside routed CSA Lincoln 43-19.

For the girls, Richards beat Taylorsville 38-17, Mt. Healthy downed Parkside 34-12, Smith topped CSA Fodrea 30-20, Rockcreek outscored Schmitt 38-21 and Southside routed CSA Lincoln 28-3.

BOWLING

Bowler rolls 2

96 gameJoshua Hayes recorded a 296 game and 754 series to earn top men’s honors in the Sunday Night Mixed League. Courtney Barker had the women’s high game (247) and series (669). Hayes Motorsports posted the team high game (948) and series (2,708) and Here We Go Again leads the team standings at 56-24.

In the Tuesday Night Men’s League, Thomas Wilson tallied a 279 game, and Matt Sanders had a 723 series. Fire House Ice Cream notched the team high game (1,335) and series (3,709), and Independents leads the team standings at 60-12.

Bonnie Roberts rolled the women’s high game (201) and series (557) in the Wednesday Night Mixed League. Steve Phillips (254) and Jerad Garrett (709) had the men’s high game and series. Peanut Gallery recorded the team high game (928), while C.B.C No. 1 had the team high series (2,545) and is tied with Alive & Kicking atop the team standings at 50-22.

In the Senior Men’s League, John Baldwin notched the high game (248), and Mike Branigan had the high series (667). Badgers posted the team high handicap series (2,950), and Wildcats lead the team standings at 66-22.

North, East fall twice

Columbus North and Columbus East each lost two matches last week in Bloomington.North dropped matches to Madison and Eastern to fall to 1-3. East fell to Seymour and Madison to drop to 0-4.
