Columbus-Bartholomew Solid Waste Management Authority members proposed the construction of a permanent recycling facility east of City Garage.

Late arrival of brick and a strike at the company that manufactured window sashes delayed the opening of a new classroom wing at Columbus High School until early 1967. Architect Gunnar Birkerts reported the new Lincoln Elementary School would be ready for occupancy in February.
