Thelma M. Dwiggins, 77, of Sheridan, passed away Nov. 12, 2016, at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville.

She was born on Feb. 13, 1939, in Columbus to Clarence and Gertrude (Wheeldon) Ferguson, and married Paul A. Dwiggins on July 3, 1974. He survives in Sheridan.

Other survivors include children, Gary (Angie) Edwards of Scipio, Kathi (Greg) Osborn of Sheridan and Paula (John) Carithers of Sheridan; three siblings, Josephine Dowling of Seymour, Clarence “Bud” Ferguson of Chicago and Dempsey Ferguson of Columbus; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Martha Grissom and Lavern Hunt; and infant grandson, James Corbin Osborn.

She had lived in Sheridan for 26 years, moving from Columbus. She was a homemaker and a member of United Church of God in Indianapolis.

Thelma’s life revolved around her family. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, gardening and was very dedicated to her church and her family.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2016, at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, Shelbyville, Indiana, with visitation from noon until service time, also at the funeral home. Pastor Gordon Brauchla will officiate.

Burial will be in Blue Ridge Cemetery in Shelby County.
